Meet Your Trainer
Dirna Grobbelaar is a seasoned oral hygienist with over two decades of clinical experience, based in Cape Town. As Oral Hygiene Advisor at Ivohealth and a leading SDA accredited GBT trainer in South Africa, Dirna has trained hundreds of dental professionals in Guided Biofilm Therapy. She practices at Intercare Tyger Valley, Durbanville, where she applies the latest EMS GBT techniques daily.
Academic credentials: Diploma in Oral Hygiene, University of Stellenbosch (1999); Expanded Functions, University of Pretoria (2000) and University of the Western Cape (2013).

- The GBT Clinical Workflow An in-depth walkthrough of the structured 8-step GBT protocol, including clinical assessment and risk evaluation, biofilm disclosure, patient education and motivation, supra- and subgingival biofilm removal, powder selection, electric scaler use, and recall and maintenance planning. We’ll also cover aerosol control best practice and managing patient sensitivity — two of the most common chairside challenges.
